Before Dean Marie Pyle Peters and her family moved to Grand Rapids, Michigan in 1979, she spent the first 12 years of her life growing up in Los Angeles, California.

Deanie was born on September 24th, 1966 in Bellflower, California at Bellwood Hospital.

Deanie’s mother and...more father (Duane and Mary Pyle) initially set up home in Paramount, California which is near Cerritos.

Deanie’s mother and father divorced when she was 2 years old.

Deanie and her mother moved to Bellflower to live with Mary’s parents while Duane moved to Cerritos, California where he remains today.

Mary eventually met and married John Peters, who moved the three of them to Whittier, California which is where Deanie started school.

At some point during the early to mid 1970s, John and Mary Peters had a son, William, and soon moved the family to Poway, California which is just north of San Diego.

CASCADE TWP., Mich. (WZZM) - A driver was not seriously hurt in a dramatic crash Monday night while exiting I-96.

The crash happened while the driver tried to exit the highway onto Fulton Street.  The driver hit a telephone pole guide wire that caused the car to flip over onto its roof.

Michigan State Police investigators believe the man may have been drinking.

ADA, MI - Spring must be around the corner because the Ada Township Park & Recreation is now accepting applications for the 2012 Softball Season.  Leagues are active in the Spring, Summer and Fall at Ada Township Park and Leonard Field. ADA, MI - An 8-year old girl from Ada Township will be one of three kids who will help judge the entries for the official Pure Michigan flavor of Michigan state parks ice cream.   Lexi Loehfelm of Ada and the other two youths have the honor of becoming judges because they have been named...more “Outdoor Outstanding Kids” by the Michigan Department of Natural Resources.

The DNR news release says:  

This campaign was designed to recognize Michigan youth who have shown exemplary support of outdoor recreation, natural resources stewardship and the perpetuation of play and/or green spaces in their communities. This year, the DNR recognized three kids who have taken their love of the outdoors to a whole new level! The original intent of the campaign was to find judges for the “Create a Flavor” contest, but the DNR believes Outstanding Outdoor Kids will become an annual recognition campaign for amazing kids in three age groups: 8-11, 12-14 and 15-18.

Representatives broke ground this morning on the Cascade Goodwill.  The thrift store will be located on Kraft Avenue near 28th Street.  The Cascade Goodwill will resemble the Rockford store that...more opened last year.
