Dry and cool weather will move into West Michigan the next couple of days with a mix of clouds and sun. Another storm system will bring rain by the middle of the week.    

Today expect partly to mostly sunny with temperatures in the low 30s.  Winds will be northeast at 5-10 mph with wind chills in the 20s.

The rain combined with melting snow could produce some flooding across parts of West Michigan. Freezing rain and sleet are possible. 

Mixed rain and snow showers are expected, mainly during the morning. Highs will be in the low-mid 30s early, with temperatures slowly falling during the afternoon. Winds will be north at 8-16 mph with wind chills in the 20s.

This Afternoon will be partly to mostly cloudy with highs in the upper 30s to around 40.  Winds will be breezy from the southwest-west at 10-20 mph inland and west-southwest at 12-22 mph along the lakeshore.

 

Tonight will become cloudy with a...more little light snow possible along and south of US-10 and light rain possible along and south of I-94. Temperatures will be in the mid 30s. Winds will be south at 5-10 mph inland and 6-12 mph along the lakeshore.

Friday will feature morning snow showers mainly south of I-96 followed by partly to mostly cloudy conditions the rest of the day. Winds will still be breezy from the west at 10-20 mph inland and 12-22 mph along the lakeshore. Temperatures will climb into the upper teens to low 20s inland and low to mid 20s along the lakeshore. Wind chills will be around 7-11°.

Thursday night, lake-effect snow showers will continue, especially south of I-96 where another two to four inches is possible. Snow showers will diminish during the evening hours before picking up again before midnight. Areas north of I-96 will become partly to mostly...more cloudy. Blowing snow will continue with west winds at 10-20 mph inland and 15-25 mph along the lakeshore. Temperatures will hold steady in the mid teens along the lakeshore but drop into the single numbers to low teens inland. Wind chills will be around 1 to -4°.

Thursday, strong winds will continue to whip up lake-effect snow with an additional one to three inches likely and two to four along the lakeshore north of Muskegon for a total of two to six inches. Temperatures will hold steady in the mid teens inland to near 20°...more along the lakeshore. Winds will be west-southwest at 15-30 mph inland and west at 20-30 mph along the lakeshore. Wind chills will be around -1 to -4°.

Round Two Begins


Wednesday night, round two quickly begins during the evening as much colder air wraps in: lake-effect snow will develop, whipped up by wind gusts to 50 mph along the lakeshore and 40 mph inland, reducing visibilities to near zero at times overnight. One to three...more inches of snow is expected. Temperatures will drop from near 30° along the lakeshore at midnight and mid to upper 20s inland to near 20° by daybreak. Sustained winds will be west at 15-25 mph inland and northwest at 25-35 mph along the lakeshore. Wind chills will drop be around 12-16° and drop to around -1 to -4° by daybreak.
